Small Business Advocate on Job Growth in June: To Sustain the Solid Momentum, Let’s Move on Tax Reform and Health Cost Relief

Washington, D.C. – Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) President & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following statement on the June employment report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics today:

“The solid job gains made in June show steady optimism among business owners.  America’s entrepreneurs and small businesses are facing a friendlier policy environment, which is very positive for investment, job creation and wage growth.  While the business community is no longer facing threatening policy headwinds, relief from outrageous health insurance costs and progress on tax reform will sustain this positive jobs momentum, including wage growth.  The summer months will be critical in this regard, and we encourage President Trump and the Congress to remain relentless in their pursuit of getting legislation signed into law in these two key areas so that entrepreneurs end the year with greater certainty, and enter 2018 with a fresh burst of confidence and optimism.”
