The Hill: Business Groups Push for Quick Action on Taxes

The Hill reports (July 25) on the progress of tax reform, and some groups are getting anxious about what actions will be taken in 2017.  Some small-business advocacy goals have moved from fundamental tax reform to “tax cut” only, but SBE Council is still optimistic and continues to push for big reform.

As noted in the article:

Raymond Keating, chief economist at the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council, said the business community is “pretty realistic” about how Washington works. He noted that the last time Congress overhauled the tax code, in 1986, the effort suffered several setbacks before succeeding.

“It’s never going to be perfectly smooth sailing,” he said.
