Pro-growth policies work and “create a beautiful circle of opportunity for everyone in our economy…”

For Immediate Release

Washington, D.C. – Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council president & CEO Karen Kerrigan commented on today’s Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) report that showed 4.1 percent GDP growth for the second quarter of 2018:

“Small businesses are investing and consumers are spending.  Entrepreneurs are not at all surprised by 4.1% growth for the second quarter because their revenues are growing and their opportunities for expansion have not been this promising for a very long time.  Growth-oriented policies work and create a beautiful circle of opportunity for everyone in our economy. Small businesses can get used to this level of growth.

“The policies pursued and enacted by President Trump and Congress have made a huge difference for small business confidence and economic growth. This economic performance should be very encouraging to President Trump and congressional leaders and keep them on the path of sound policies that enable investment, entrepreneurship and market access. Staying on this path will help sustain high levels of growth, which is important to reaching those who never recovered from the dark recessionary period.

“SBE Council and our small business members look forward to our continued work with the President’s team and congressional leaders on Tax Cuts 2.0, JOBS Act 3.0, regulatory relief and reform, access to capital and broadband, workforce development and other key elements of our 2018 agenda that will strengthen the ecosystem for risk-taking, investment and quality job growth.”
