H.R. 5771: Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2014
By SBE Council at 2 December, 2014, 12:35 pm
The Honorable Dave Camp
Chairman
Committee on Ways and Means
U.S. House of Representatives
1102 Longworth Building
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Chairman Camp:
On behalf of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council), I am writing to express support for H.R. 5771, the “Tax Increase Prevention Act” of 2014.
The legislation extends many important tax provisions that entrepreneurs need to make whole on 2014, and to better prepare for 2015. While SBE Council strongly supported your efforts, passed by the U.S. House, to make permanent Section 179 expensing, bonus depreciation and the R&D tax credit, many of our small business members will benefit from the one-year extension. Our hope is that comprehensive tax reform is completed next year so that entrepreneurs and small businesses do not have to operate under such instability. We know you share that goal.
Thank you for your leadership on promoting and advancing tax reform in this Congress, and the foundation you have established for next year.
Sincerely,
Karen Kerrigan, President & CEO
