Dear Senators King and Blunt:

On behalf of the 100,000 members of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council), I am pleased to support S. 708, the “Regulatory Improvement Act of 2015.”

America’s small businesses drive the economy with their innovations and entrepreneurial spirit. However, they are being inundated with government regulations that absorb resources and threaten their ability to survive in the market and create jobs, which is being recognized by all Americans. In fact, a September 2015 Gallup Poll found that Americans believe by more than a 2-to-1 margin that government regulates too much rather than too little.

That is why SBE Council is pleased to support S. 708, which will create a commission to examine government regulations and identify those that need to be modified, consolidated or eliminated. Our nation’s small businesses are disproportionately impacted by excessive and costly federal rulemaking, and steps must be taken to reset and rethink the regulatory process.

Thank you for you leadership on this important issue affecting all Americans. SBE Council looks forward to working with you to advance S. 708.

Sincerely,

Karen Kerrigan, President & CEO
