FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, D.C. – Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) president & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following statement following passage of the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act” by the United States Senate:
“Passage of this significant tax legislation is very good news for entrepreneurs, small business owners and their workforce. The bill will fuel strong economic growth and boost the competitiveness of small businesses, providing them with the capital they need to grow and succeed. We are thankful for the hard work of Senator Hatch, Majority Leader McConnell, and all Senators who worked collaboratively to craft a bill that will strengthen entrepreneurship, investment and opportunity across America.
“SBE Council looks forward to working with conference committee members to ensure that the value of the tax package remains strong and meaningful for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Given the potency of both the House and Senate versions of the ‘Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,’ we are confident that the conference report will be a bold tax package for our economy and small businesses.
“Getting a tax bill signed into law this year is very important. It will fuel the high level of optimism among small business owners, provide entrepreneurs with more capital to invest and scale, and drive strong and sustained economic growth in 2018 and beyond.”
