Washington, D.C. – Today, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) announced that former Arizona Senator Jon Kyl (R) will fill the seat left vacant by the passing of Senator John McCain (R). Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) president & CEO Karen Kerrigan praised the selection, as Senator Kyl was a passionate supporter of America’s small businesses during his U.S. Senate career, and she is confident he will be an active legislator in moving policies to support entrepreneurship and small business growth.

“Senator Kyl is an excellent choice. SBE Council is very pleased that Senator Kyl is willing to jump back into public service at this critical time. His exceptional leadership and demeanor are needed to help advance important policies and pieces of Senate business that are essential to our nation. Senator Kyl is a terrific friend of entrepreneurs and small businesses, and we are glad he will be back fighting for legislation on their behalf,” said Kerrigan.

Senator Kyl consistently ranked as a “Champion” for entrepreneurs and small businesses for his votes on legislation that enabled their success. He scored a perfect 100% during his final session in the U.S. Congress in SBE Council’s Small Business Ratings of the 112th Congress.
