Washington, D.C. – Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) president & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following statement regarding the results of the mid-term congressional elections:

“SBE Council congratulates all House and Senate candidates on their election victories.  Our team and members look forward to working with members on both sides of the aisle to advance and modernize the many policy reforms that are needed to strengthen the ecosystem for strong small business growth and entrepreneurship across the United States.

“The current Congress and President Trump have found a way to reach bipartisan consensus on a range of issues benefiting America’s small business and entrepreneurial sector, and there is no reason why the 116th Congress, with its many new members, cannot do the same in 2019. In fact, that is what many of the incoming members have pledged to do.

“Small business health and confidence are high, and entrepreneurship and investment are on the rise. Wages are increasing and there are abundant job options for America’s workers.  The policy momentum that is fueling this positive activity must continue in order to sustain the solid economic growth that is bringing opportunity and hope to many more Americans. SBE Council stands ready to work with the 116th Congress to ensure this happens.”
