For Immediate Release

Washington, D.C. – Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) president & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s announcement that he plans to nominate Jovita Carranza to be the next Administrator of the Small Business Administration:

“Jovita’s excellent background and skill-set will be hugely beneficial to the SBA. She understands what it is like to start and manage a business, has led an international division of one of America’s most well-known companies, and is familiar with the workings of the federal government both in her current role as U.S. Treasurer and as the Deputy Administrator of the SBA during the Administration of George W. Bush.  Jovita will effectively represent entrepreneurs as a member of the President’s Cabinet and understands the many challenges and opportunities facing small businesses. We will urge the Senate to act on her nomination quickly to ensure the steady leadership of this important agency.”
