Washington, D.C. – Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) president & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following statement in support of the nomination of Dan Brouillette for U.S. Energy Secretary:

“Continuity of policy and management are vitally important to the U.S. Department of Energy, and I am pleased that President Trump has nominated an experienced and proven individual in Dan Brouillette to fill the big shoes being left by Secretary Rick Perry. In all critical areas involving the stability, resiliency, affordability, efficiency and renewability of America’s energy supply, Deputy Secretary Brouillette can be credited with a long list of accomplishments. His vast knowledge of the energy sector combined with his skilled management of the Energy Department as Chief Operating Officer are inimitable attributes that have more than prepared Deputy Secretary Brouillette for the top role. Continued U.S. leadership in energy production and innovation requires a leader who understands what’s at stake for our economy as well as global geopolitical considerations.  Dan Brouillette is the ideal individual to lead the Energy Department at this critical time. SBE Council urges every member of the Senate to support Dan Brouillette’s nomination and confirmation as Secretary of Energy.”

In a previous vote for Deputy Secretary of Energy, Dan Brouillette was confirmed by the U.S. Senate by 79-17 on August 3, 2017.
