Washington, D.C. – On May 19, President Donald J. Trump issued an Executive Order, “Regulatory Relief to Support Economic Recovery,” which aims to identify and remove barriers to innovation and restrictive red tape that may hinder the restoration of economic growth in the U.S. economy. Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) president & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following statement on the Executive Order:

“Small businesses across America are in a very fragile state, and President Trump’s efforts to relieve them of red tape, exemptions from burdensome regulations, and providing fairness when it comes to enforcement and compliance will help boost confidence.  As the economy re-opens across America at different tempos, knowing that federal regulators will strive to promote certainty, relief and fairness is one less strain that entrepreneurs will have to worry about as they work to re-open their businesses. SBE Council looks forward to engaging with federal agencies to provide ideas and feedback as they look to find ways to help small businesses with regulatory relief, guidance and support.”

Karen Kerrigan, SBE Council president & CEO
