Washington, D.C. – Following passage of the “Fiscal Responsibility Act” by the U.S. House of Representatives by a final vote of 314-117, Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) president & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following statement:
“We are both relieved and pleased that the ‘Fiscal Responsibility Act’ passed with significant bipartisan support in the House. The legislation responsibly raises the debt ceiling while advancing other key policies that provide stability for the U.S. economy as well as support for small businesses as they navigate costly pain points and uncertainties. The ‘Fiscal Responsibility Act’ includes reforms and measures that begin to chip away at resolving some of these pain points. Now, the Senate must act quickly on this critical measure so that Congress can continue to tackle a range of important issues that will support entrepreneurs and small business owners in their efforts to more effectively compete and operate in a challenging economy.”
In a letter sent to the U.S. House today, SBE Council explained the group’s support of the “Fiscal Responsibility Act” and urged all Members to support the legislation.
