Resolution of Disapproval to Overturn NLRB’s Damaging “Joint Employer” Rule

Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) president & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following statement of support for H.J. Res 98. The U.S. House is expected to vote on the resolution on January 12, 2024:

“The passage of the resolution to rescind the NLRB’s costly ‘joint employer’ rule is vital to protecting the hard work and capital that millions of entrepreneurs have invested in their startups and small businesses. Local businesses must be protected from this politically-driven scheme that aims to boost labor unions coffers and federal government control at the expense of small business owners and local economies. The NLRB’s expanded ‘joint employer’ rule not only threatens proven paths to U.S. entrepreneurship and financial success, but potentially confiscates the rights and control that many entrepreneurs rightly believed they had when they launched their businesses and risked their capital. The NLRB’s onerous ‘joint employer’ rule is unconditionally anti-entrepreneur and anti-small business. Members of the U.S. House who say they support Main Street businesses must firmly get behind this resolution to protect local businesses and economies. SBE Council urges a YES vote on H.J. Res 98.”
